In April, we started our first food bank at Rays of Grace Primary School to respond to food shortages due to COVID-19. This week, we were overjoyed to host 2 more food and hygiene item distributions. We fed 1,232 community members with over 13,000 pounds of rice, salt, sugar, eggs, and posho (a Ugandan staple). We also gave 332 reusable face masks and bars of soap to local children. It was a blessing to provide some relief for local families.
The community came together to make the distributions a huge success! Our teachers filled the many bags of rice and posho. Community leaders helped organize the distribution. And, everyone helped us by following social distancing throughout the day.
In the middle of uncertainty and hardship, we want to be an organization that shows the love of our Father in tangible ways. After our first food bank, many of you gave generous gifts that played a huge role in helping us serve 3 local villages and countless families. Thank you for joining our efforts to faithfully serve and love our neighbors in Kirugu, Uganda.
Finally, you all our on our hearts. We know this pandemic touches everyone in different ways. We pray that you and your families are touched by hope, grace, and love.
Much love to you,
The HFF Team
